昨晚是American Idol 8 的Semi-final --- 不是我要說, 水準真的是高到讓人在電視機前面都會跟著尖叫, 不是只有Adam Lambert, 包括Danny Gokey以及我向來都不知道為什麼還沒被淘汰掉的Kris Allen, 甚至應該說, 另外兩個人的表現令人驚豔, 並且出乎意料的記憶深刻[1]。
Semi-final 的arrangement非常簡潔不拖戲: 指定曲一首, 自選曲一首。原本我對於這樣的安排一點感覺都沒有。因為感覺就是沒有個主題, 導致連期待都沒有個方向。所以當這三個人的performances經過了這麼久後竟然還能令人”驚”艷時, 著實令我意外。這是目前為止我最愛的一集, 若是要加下個形容詞, 我會說: 帥~~~~~~; 若是硬要給他下個theme, 那麼一定是: Love song night --- 情歌醉人之夜 ---- >///////////< [2]

Paula Abdul為Danny選了Dance Little Sister, which I agree with lots of comments online: he sang very well, but the song choice…..hum…. [3]

Randy: “The performance had a lot of energy …. that was dope for me.”
Kara: “the dancing was a little too gyrating for me….the dancing had overpowered the singing….”
Paula: “I thought you did a fantastic job.”
Simon: “I thought the dancing was a bit desperate. Vocally it was very good.”
Randy Jackson與Kara DioGuardi為Kris選了Apologize。雖然他們兩個對於Kris的表現沒有非常滿意, 對於那台鋼琴意見更多。基本上是因為他太忠於原唱了, 某人更指出他副歌兩次都沒有hit the high note。但我必須說這是我第一次覺得Kris唱得很好聽, 很recognized, 並且下載了mp3 --- 當我今天一邊做報表一邊聽時, 很意外發現這竟然是我今天聽次多次的曲子。至於聽最多次的曲子呢? 後面會出現…

Randy: “This is the kind of artist you could be. Nice, very nice.”
Kara: “I think it was a confident performance. I wanted you to make it more your own. Take more chances.”
Paula: “I miss you taking artistic license. There was a bum note there that was loud…but I’m so proud of you.”
Simon: “Kara, you can’t choose a song for him and then blame him for doing the song! It was a competent version of the song…you should have worked out the arrangement…you aren’t holding up your responsibilities”
Simon Cowell為Adam 選了U2的著名代表作之ㄧ: One。很值得一提的在於當Simon打電話給Bono requested for permission, Bono told him it'd be their pleasure for Adam to sing the song. (相關新聞) 。根據某人的說法, Adam唱的版本, 如同慣例, 喜歡的會很喜歡, 不喜歡的會很不喜歡。 由於我對U2沒有忠誠度, 所以我有喜歡~~XD

Kara: “You make it unbelievable. You did your own version.”
Paula: “It was one brilliant song and one superb performance.”
Simon: “Kidding around, this is the point I was trying to make: It was a brilliant, brilliant performance.”

Danny Gokey – You Are So Beautiful
Randy: “Amazing song…you showed you’re here because you can really sing…mad vocals.”
Kara: “Everything you didn’t do in the first performance…you just did. Stunning!”
Paula: “You left all of us breathless…by changing the chords and infusing the gospel part…you nailed it…”
Simon: “I wouldn’t have re-arranged it…this is a singing competition…I would call that a vocal masterclass.”
不得不承認, 當Danny說出You Are So Beautiful時, 我的反應跟主持人說/做的
…差不多…Orz 而他唱的呢? 真的令人很熟悉, 是R&B加gospel --- 仔細聽, 中間有一段上升音完全是”Jesus, Take The Wheel”副歌的旋律呢。而”Jesus, Take The Wheel” 正是Danny在Country (Top 11) 那週唱的曲子[4]。
Kris的自選曲是Heartless ---評審給予的評價非常高: 她們一致認為Kris的版本比原唱唱得還好。而這是我今天聽最多的曲子 --- 是的, 即便Adam還是我最愛的performer, then Danny, 但我今天聽最多的是 Kris的Heartless。

Randy: “I like that version best! It was better than the original!”
Kara: “Bold, brave and fearless.”
Paula: “You sang a song about Simon Cowell. Bravo!”
Simon: “I had written you off after the poor song choice after first song, but that has all changed after that performance.”
最後是Adam的Cryin --- 該怎麼說呢? 某人說所以Simon Cowell被賣了, 我會說Simon Cowell被傾銷了。
Adam – Cryin
Randy: “You are one of the best we’ve ever had on the stage.”
Kara: “Amazing we’ll see you at the finals.”
Paula: “You set the bar so high I hope you are collecting frequent flyer.”
Simon: “I want everyone to vote for you base on the fact you deserve to be there, not to assume.”
當然網路上紛紛評論, Simon這樣的做法很不公平, 變成只為Adam拉票。問我, 我是不覺得有什麼啦, 因為在我聽來評審每一週都在表達他們的好惡, 並且還洋洋灑灑義正嚴詞的倒垃圾桶般的告訴你為什麼(完全就跟老闆一樣) --- 都聽了這麼多個月了, 也不差多聽一個晚上=P
經過昨晚的表演後, 真的突然第一次覺得結果變得很難預測 --- 事實證明, 超過88 million people voted last night, 第一名與第二名之間只差1M的票數, 而結果, 我從一開始就超愛的Danny Gokey被voted out……該怎麼說呢…噢~~超垂淚的…. feel so miserable now…

我們討論過, 這次的參賽者其實平均水準, 甚至有些人在過去幾季中都搞不好可以成為冠軍的, 卻因為Adam Lambert的關係, 他們的表演相對上就很不容易被記得。Danny Gokey的聲音辨識度很高, 我在第一次看節目, Hollywood week結束, 忘了是多少名刷到Top 36時就pop up, 但Kris Allen真的就是….我始終記不得他的聲音Orz 這也可以想見上週Allison被淘汰時我真是有難過到啊...

Hum就是hum, 不過不太知道是不是因為用這首開場太high了, 昨晚四個評審呈現一種非常hyper的狀態, 一直持續到節目結束….XD 話說雖然我沒有特別愛這首歌, 但據說這首歌其實因為拍子的關係相當難唱。也就是說當Danny唱得如此自然然後我們還可以嫌棄沒有爆點時, 其實是件很了不起的事。

雖然這是我最愛的一集表演啦, 但某人顯然這次不打算被傾銷 --- 你看你看, 真的是很bias, 完全聽不了情歌啊……(手環胸搖頭狀)

忘了提, Danny是他們教會敬拜團的主領。在網路上找一下還能聽到他的見證呢! 當然這對於他的人氣是個two sided sword, 或許也使在評論上不夠客觀, 不過話說回來popularity與preference這種東西從來也都不是客觀的就是了^^
